PageChecklist Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 5, 2026
PageChecklist is a Chrome extension that checks the currently active webpage against required and forbidden words or phrases supplied by the user.
Data processed by the extension
When the user clicks Scan page, PageChecklist temporarily reads text content from the active webpage in order to compare it with the user's required and forbidden terms and display matching highlights.
The required and forbidden term lists entered by the user are saved locally using Chrome's local extension storage so they remain available between browser sessions.
Local processing
All scanning and matching takes place locally in the user's browser. PageChecklist does not transmit webpage content, entered terms, scan results, URLs, or browsing activity to the developer or to any external server.
Data not collected
PageChecklist does not collect or transmit:
- Personal or identifying information
- Authentication or payment information
- Browsing history
- Location information
- Analytics, advertising identifiers, or tracking data
Data sharing and sale
PageChecklist does not sell, rent, share, or transfer user data to third parties. No human reviews or accesses the webpage content processed by the extension.
Data retention and deletion
Webpage content and scan results are not retained. The user's required and forbidden term lists remain in Chrome's local extension storage until the user selects Clear saved lists, clears the extension's local data, or uninstalls PageChecklist.
Permissions
PageChecklist uses the activeTab and scripting
permissions only after a user action to scan and highlight the current page.
The storage permission is used only to save the user's term lists
locally.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated if PageChecklist's functionality or data practices change. The updated date at the top of this page will reflect the latest version.
