PageChecklist – Required & Forbidden Text Privacy Policy

PageChecklist checks the active web page against the user's own saved checklist of required phrases, forbidden phrases and a small set of deterministic content checks, and shows a local publish-readiness result with highlights.

Data handling

PageChecklist processes content from the active web page only when needed for features the user explicitly invokes.

Depending on the enabled checks, this may include:

• visible page text
• link destinations (href values) on the active page

Link destinations are inspected only to identify configured conditions such as localhost or obvious non-production links. PageChecklist does not visit, request, or send those links anywhere.

Page content, link destinations, scan results, and evidence snippets are processed locally in the browser and are not transmitted to the developer or external servers.

Storage

PageChecklist stores the user's saved checklists locally in chrome.storage.local.

Stored checklist data may include:

• checklist names
• required phrases
• forbidden phrases
• which automatic checks are enabled

PageChecklist does not store scanned page content, link destinations, page URLs, scan results, evidence snippets, or browsing history.

Data sharing and sale

The extension does not sell, rent, or share user data with third parties.

Analytics and advertising

The extension does not use analytics or telemetry to track users. The extension does not use user data for advertising.

Permissions

• activeTab: Provides temporary access to the current tab after the user explicitly interacts with PageChecklist. It is used to inspect the page, run the selected checklist, highlight matches, clear highlights, and locate detected issues.
• scripting: Injects the packaged PageChecklist scanner into the active tab when required for scanning, highlighting, or locating an issue. PageChecklist has no persistent content script and executes no remotely hosted code.
• storage: Stores saved checklists — their names, required and forbidden phrase lists, and enabled automatic checks — locally in chrome.storage.local so they remain available when PageChecklist is reopened. It does not store page content, link destinations, page URLs, scan results, evidence snippets, or browsing history.

Remote code

The extension does not execute remotely hosted code.
